Welcome to the Early Childhood Development Column ! We are privileged and pleased to present the latest initiatives that are taking place and set forth for the 21st Century, as we try to strenghten our commitment to serve and protect our most precious resource of all, our children. We must strive diligently to create high quality programs and services that would be inclusive of the “ whole child”, while remembering that the child is the heart of every learning institution.
Therefore, it is vital that administrators, community leaders, parents, teachers, and care takers are actively involved in the early development stages of the child’s learning and growing experience. The areas of focus for ECE centers are aimed at developing the child's physical, social, cognitive, and emotional skills; thus, also equally addressing the special needs for children with disabilities.
First and foremost, Health, Safety, and Nutrition for the young child is a primary objective for young children everywhere. Ultimately, it should be our mission to extend an invitation to administrators, teachers, parents, care takers , and community leaders to work collaboratively with ECE community centers to promote healthy and effective practices in ensuring a brighter future for our children.
