A five member Assessment Team from ADB meets with Secretary Rufino Mauricio and his staff at the National Department of Education conference room to share the EGLA (Early Learning Grade Assessment) assessment tools in Literacy and Numeracy.
The assessment tool in Literacy is called ELGA (Early Literacy Grace Assessment) while the Math portion is similarly redressed as EGMA or Early Grade Math Assessment
The Team also reports on the initial phase of their work, which have included pilot schools in RMI, Kosrae, and Pohnpei; Yap and Chuuk will be added next. According to Assessment Team, they have successfully validated the essential key indicators, which are vitally significant elements in yielding accurate and reliable assessment data. Select NDOE Staff look forward to assisting ADB assessment team to reap the benefits of the EGLA assessment tools in literacy and numeracy to enhance the current data constructs. ADB team is contracted for two years to move EGLA forward into the FSM schools.
